Heil Proset repair

A repairment topic again.

I use a head-set for ham radio. It is Proset made by Heil Sounds. It had judgment line problem on its headphone line.

A replacement code set from EDC.

Remove the left ear pad and take off the speaker.

Take off the center screw and take off the side cover.

Exchange the code-set by solder work.

After the repair, I can use the head-set again. It is so comfortable. :-)

TS950SDX repair

My TS950SDX had some problem on its remote control interface.
After a thunderstorm, my DSL modem was broken. Lan port of my laptop PC, a USB serial converter and the remote control interface of my TS950SDX were also broken by a lightning surge.

I neglected to repair my TS950SDX for long time. But, recentry I wanted to use the remote control port for logger and logger32.

These are the repaire process.
1) Remove the top and bottom covers

2) Tilt the front panel

3) Exchange a IC chip

After the repairing, I can use the rig control during a contest. It's fun!!

Business trip to Taiwan

I came to Taiwan for business. It was just one year after my last visit Taiwan.

Last time was the day of Tohoku disaster, one of the biggest earth quake of the world.

I worked at TSMC's clean room for repairing a scanning electron microscope. TSMC is constructing a big fab building again. TSMC is one of biggest semiconductor manufacturing company in the world.

I hope I'll be home this week end.

New Year's status of my DXCC

My DXCC start-line is as below.

About 70 paper aplicacions are waiting next field check at Ham fair 2012.

My aim of this year is to be a CW honor-roll and make DXCC on 30m.

I hope to see you on bands.

End of the year

Only one and quarter hour left in Japan now.

I moved from Tokorozawa Saitama to Higashimurayama Tokyo this month. I will build new antenna at my new house next year. I hope to see you on HF bands.

My antennas were repaired!!

I repaired all antennas by help of Yukio/JA2VTA.

It took four hours for the repair, and the cost of replaced parts was about 500 dollars.

The game was over

It was tough days for me.

I participated in the CQ World-wide DX contest as single-operator unlimited categoly. My aim was to make more than 1,000 QSOs.

The result is as bellow.

Yes! I did!

10 meter band was so good condition and I operated mainly on it. I worked 84 entities in 33 zones on 10 meter band. I made 4 band WAC on 40, 20 15 and 10 meter bands in one day. I worked with 38 zones. Zone 34 and 36 was left. I made only 5 Qs on 80 meter band because my antena was broken after few QSOs.

I came back to 40 m band!

I repaired AFA40 and came back to 40 meter again.

The plastic coil bobbins were broken and both end elements were brown away

TA371 still lost the reflectors.

What a bad behavior the Typhoon did!

The Typhoon Roke had passed near my house last week. What a strong wind it was! My antenna was broken as below.

Where are my reflectors and loading coils?

10 meter reflector broke off and flew over.

The other reflector dropped with the edge of broken boom and bent.

I must repaire them before the next WW DX contest.

My last DXCC apprication has been finished. It took only one month for processing.

TT8SP and 9Q5OWB are not accepted by DXCC desk. The reason will be known after the credit slip's arrival.

My DXCC status are, 339/347 Mixed, 337/344 Phone and 328/332 CW. KP1 and ST0 are left for completing the award.
